Job Description
The junior estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the cost of labor, equipment, and materials for projects. Understanding and preparing take-offs from project drawings. Working with a team to submit bids on time for clients. Reviewing and approving project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.

Responsibilities

Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing and on-time delivery

Perform quantity take-offs





Effective use of estimating software to produce accurate bids (Trimble)

Develop business relationships with vendors and clients

Obtain pricing from vendors, suppliers/subcontractors and incorporate it into the estimate

Accountable for accuracy and completeness of tender submissions

Track, process, and report estimating department goals, and progress and maintain historical data

Produce estimates with accurate contingencies

Maintain estimating workbooks and databases

Qualifications:

1 year of experience in the construction industry or some relevant experience in a similar role is preferred

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Positive attitude and a desire for continuous improvement for self and the organization

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Professional designation in engineering is an asset

Experience working in a very fast-paced, self-directed, and energetic work environment

Intermediate understanding of Trimble is an asset
