In this role, the Accessible Learning Advisor at the Centre for Accessible Learning guides students on academic accommodations and accessibility services throughout their academic journey. With a focus on personalized learning strategies, you will assess needs and coordinate essential resources to dismantle educational barriers. Your expertise will support advocacy for compliance with accessibility policies and fostering an inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized accommodation advising to students
• Review documentation and maintain Letters of Accommodation
• Consult with faculty on effective academic accommodation implementations
• Support self-advocacy skills and access to academic resources
• Deliver workshops and outreach activities for accessibility
Requirements:
• Minimum four-year degree in relevant fields
• Five years of experience in disability support or education
• Knowledge of social and medical models of disability
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with psychosocial aspects of disability
