Position Summary
Benefits Administrator is responsible for the timely setup and ongoing maintenance of employer, member, and service provider records. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of these records, working closely with other departments to validate data and confirm that service standards are consistently upheld. This role demands a detail-oriented, proactive approach to facilitate efficient operations and maintain the highest level of data integrity.
Location
This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Edmonton office.
Key Responsibilities:
Employer Administration
Enter employer contribution reports and prepare discrepancy reports
Set up and maintain employers across multiple systems
Send Welcome Packages and reports to new employers
Run Hour History and daily E-inTel reports
Enter Contribution Transfer Authorization (CTA) forms
Maintain Check Off lists for all clients
Respond to emails from employers and locals
Member & Service Provider Administration
Set up and maintain member, employer, and service provider records to ensure accurate, up to date information
Update eligibility statuses and member records as required
Track and mail drug cards
Process Health & Welfare self-payments and prepare monthly self-payment statistics
Create and mail New Eligible and Self-Pay correspondence
Manage weekly HCSA (Health Care Spending Account) data loads
Reporting & Cross-Departmental Support
Run monthly reports to support departmental functions
Provide administrative support to the Pension team
Provide support to the call centre and finance department
Respond to inquiries from other departments
Create and maintain spreadsheets and documents supporting benefits tracking and administration
Continuous Improvement
Analyze issues as they arise and develop effective solutions
Continually review current processes for efficiency improvements
Qualifications and Attributes:
Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Office or Business Administration
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Accurate and productive alpha and numeric keyboarding skills
Strong computer skills, with an acceptable level of keyboarding speed and accuracy
Working knowledge of office procedures; prior office experience an asset
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet company service standards
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy of work
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and to work independently and as part of a team
Successful completion of a cleared criminal background check is required
