Job Description
This role involves fabricating, fitting, and finishing metal components to precise customer specifications using detailed schematics and blueprints. You will perform high-quality GMAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, while working in a heavy industrial environment that supports a wide range of projects for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment applications.
Responsibilities
Interpret and work from complex drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to produce components that meet customer requirements and specifications.
Perform high-quality GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to required specifications.
Carry out welding, grinding, and related finishing duties to ensure clean, accurate, and structurally sound welds.
Fit and assemble metal components accurately prior to welding, ensuring proper alignment and tolerances.
Use flux core welding techniques as required for specific applications and materials.
Handle and move materials, including heavy lifting, in a safe and efficient manner within a heavy industrial setting.
Operate safely around fabrication equipment and tools, following all workplace safety procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with team members in fitting, welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly departments to complete projects from small components to large structures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
Meet quality, productivity, and schedule expectations while producing consistent, repeatable work.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3+ years of MIG (GMAW) welding experience.
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex drawings, and welding symbols.
Hands‑on experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Proficiency with GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes.
Ability to perform fitting and assembly of components prior to welding.
Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in a heavy industrial environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality welds.
Ability to perform grinding and finishing operations as part of the welding process.
Capability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a fabrication and assembly setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CWB, AWS, or TSSA welding tickets are considered an asset.
Overhead crane certification is an asset.
Experience with flux core welding is an advantage.
Background in working with both sheet metal and heavy plate components.
Experience fabricating and assembling components for heavy truck, defense, or off-road equipment industries is beneficial.

Work Environment
The facility focuses on fabricating and assembling components for heavy truck, defense, and off‑road equipment applications. Operations include fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly,
producing everything from small components to large structures, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. The work takes place in a heavy industrial environment that involves heavy lifting, use of welding and grinding equipment, and close collaboration with multiple production departments. Straight shifts are available: a day shift from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday to Friday, and an afternoon shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday to Thursday, with a shift premium offered for afternoon work. The environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and consistent production quality, with overtime opportunities regularly available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stratford, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
