Position Summary
The Senior Security Systems Technician serves as a technical leader within the organization and is responsible for advanced installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspections, quality assurance, customer training, and mentoring junior technicians.

This role requires an experienced technician capable of leading complex projects, resolving advanced technical challenges, maintaining high-quality workmanship, and ensuring all installations meet New Age standards, customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable industry regulations. Senior Technicians play a critical role in technician development, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities
Technical Leadership

Provide technical support to field technicians.

Assist with project planning and execution.

Mentor Apprentices, Labourers, Technician I, and Technician II personnel.





Review installation quality and workmanship.

Support commissioning and technical escalations.

Assist with manufacturer training initiatives.

Advanced Security Systems
Intrusion Systems

Advanced troubleshooting of intrusion alarm systems.

Commission complex alarm installations.

Resolve communication failures.

Conduct ULC-related inspections and testing.

Support monitoring integrations.

Access Control Systems

Configure and commission complex access control systems.

Troubleshoot controllers, readers, and field devices.

Support enterprise-level deployments.

Verify system performance and functionality.

Conduct quality assurance inspections.

Surveillance Systems

Configure and commission advanced IP surveillance systems.

Troubleshoot networked video systems.

Optimize camera layouts and performance.

Conduct surveillance system audits.

Verify recording retention and performance standards.

Fiber Optics
Senior Technicians must be capable of:

Fiber troubleshooting

Fiber certification

Fiber commissioning

OTDR testing

Interpreting OTDR results

Diagnosing communication failures

Documenting fiber deficiencies

System Commissioning

Commission newly installed systems.

Verify programming.

Verify customer requirements are met.

Conduct acceptance testing.

Perform final system verification.

Resolve deficiencies prior to customer onboarding.

Quality Assurance
Senior Technicians are responsible for:
