The Director of Development plays a pivotal role in advancing York University's mission through strategic engagement and fundraising initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, this leadership position requires expertise in identifying, cultivating, and securing significant donations. With an annual fundraising target of $1M to $1.5M, the role focuses on fostering relationships with alumni, faculty, and donors to enhance the School's programs and research.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop revenue-generating strategies for fundraising initiatives
• Cultivate relationships with major donors and alumni
• Lead face-to-face fundraising efforts in diverse settings
• Organize events to enhance alumni engagement
• Collaborate with university leadership on fundraising strategies
Requirements:
• 6 years of fundraising experience in a leading role
• 4 years of management experience in a unionized workplace
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Understanding of CRA regulations related to fundraising
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
