Develop strategy for major campaigns and projects, including election campaigns, national and provincial projects, and rapid-response work
Provide overall direction and strategic advice
Lead discovery, research, and strategic planning for client campaigns
Facilitate discovery meetings and workshops
Serve as the client's go-to strategic advisor throughout engagements
Lead key informant interviews and collaborate with research partners on message testing, polling, and focus groups
Develop audience profiles and creative insights to guide creative development and production
Lead strategic communications planning and develop in-depth communications plans
Lead campaign, paid media, and organizing plans with internal and external subject-matter experts
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to internal project teams and deliverables
Report on campaign outcomes
Facilitate workshops, presentations, and client training
Contribute to new business through relationship cultivation, proposals, sales opportunities, and client pitches
Provide thought leadership and build relationships to strengthen the agency's reputation
Support and mentor Strategy team members
Requirements
3-5+ years of relevant experience in a comparable role
Experience and relationships within Ontario's labour and/or political ecosystems
Direct experience on a municipal, provincial or federal election campaign, or a third-party campaign, as paid staff, volunteer, or candidate
Positive reputation as a smart and strategic campaigner and relationship builder
Familiarity with the latest campaign tactics and technology
Ability to work non-standard hours and travel as needed
Must be based in Canada and legally eligible to work in Canada
Must be based in Toronto or Ottawa
Some travel and overtime required as needed
Qualified fluency in French or other languages is an additional asset
Experience with new campaign technology and organizing tools is an additional asset
Familiarity with third-party structures and advertising rules is an additional asset
No minimum requirement for education or training
