About the Role
Oxygen8 is seeking a hands‑on, solutions‑oriented Manufacturing Engineer / Engineering Specialist to support the development, optimization, and scaling of manufacturing processes for our innovative HVAC products.

This role is ideal for an intermediate‑level manufacturing engineer who enjoys working closely with production teams, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and driving continuous improvement. The position will initially focus primarily on sustaining and improving existing production processes while progressively supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and manufacturing readiness initiatives.

The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally with Product Development, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and manufacturability across Oxygen8’s product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development

Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.

Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, visual aids, and standard operating procedures.

Design and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and assembly aids.

Support pilot builds and manufacturing readiness activities during product launches.

Sustaining Manufacturing Operations

Provide day‑to‑day manufacturing engineering support to production teams.

Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.

Improve process efficiency,



throughput, quality, and safety.

Monitor manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support capacity planning and production optimization initiatives.

Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA)

Collaborate with Product Development teams to improve product manufacturability and assembly efficiency.

Provide DFMA recommendations throughout the product development cycle.

Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing complexity, cycle time, and product cost.

Process Verification & Validation

Develop and execute process verification and validation plans.

Support qualification of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.

Establish process acceptance criteria and process controls.

Document validation activities and support production release requirements.

Process Capability & Quality Improvement

Conduct process capability studies and analyze process performance using statistical methods.

Support the development of PFMEAs and Control Plans.

Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.

Reduce process variation and improve consistency through data‑driven decision making.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement opportunities for manufacturing automation.

Support deployment and optimization of automated assembly and test systems.

Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.

Participate in Kaizen events and waste reduction initiatives.

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with Production, Quality, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Service teams.

Provide technical support and guidance to operators, supervisors, and technicians.

Support onboarding and training activities related to manufacturing processes.

May provide mentorship and project guidance to co‑op students and interns

Experience and Skills
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline with minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

OR

Technical Diploma in Mechanical,



Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related discipline with minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

Manufacturing process development and improvement

Mechanical assembly manufacturing environments

Electrical assembly and wiring processes

Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

Process verification and validation activities

Process capability analysis using statistical methods

Working directly with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues

SolidWorks

Epicor ERP or similar ERP systems

Microsoft Excel (advanced)

Preferred Experience and Skills:

HVAC, refrigeration, heat pump, or electro‑mechanical product manufacturing

New Product Introduction (NPI) and production launch support

Refrigeration assembly and testing processes

Automation and semi‑automated manufacturing systems

PFMEA and Control Plan development

Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

Experience maintaining manufacturing routings and BOMs within an ERP system

Experience supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)

Manufacturing KPI reporting and data analysis

Power BI

Salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience

On‑site working setting based at our Burnaby office and occasionally at our Vancouver location
