Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $62,367 to $105,599, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Summary:
Counsellor - Grades K-12

0.886 FTE temporary contract, starting September 17,



2026 or upon completion of the posting process to December 18, 2026, or return of the incumbent.

Must have a Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling or Psychology. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the K-12 level. Must have training and or experience in trauma informed practice.

This is a District position, and 0.30 FTE of this position will support Kootenay Discovery School, 0.286 FTE will support Fernie Secondary School and 0.30 FTE will support Jaffray Elementary/Jr. Secondary School. Please note that all work will be on site.

Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
