Step into a critical role as an Anesthesia Assistant at BCHS, where patient care and collaboration with anesthesiologists are paramount. You will monitor patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures in Brantford and Paris, Ontario.
We seek a skilled skilled committed to excellence in anesthesia care. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse with a Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant Certification, you will assist in administering anesthesia and evaluating patients' cardiorespiratory conditions. Your role is vital in ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in administering anesthetic agents under anesthesiologist direction
• Provide diagnostic data such as blood gases and pulse oximetry
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and ensure proper patient positioning
• Maintain and ensure performance of anesthesia equipment
• Support patients in anesthesia block room
Requirements:
• Advanced Diploma in Respiratory Therapy or Nursing degree
• Current certification with relevant colleges required
• Minimum 2 years experience as Anesthesia Assistant
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Criminal Record Check needed
