About the Role

Ontario Container Transport Inc. is looking for an experienced and dependable Weekend Dispatcher to join our team.

This is a full-time, hybrid position working a Thursday–Monday schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating intermodal transportation operations, dispatching drivers, tracking containers, and maintaining communication with drivers, customers, and terminals.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and comfortable making quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Important Availability Requirement The successful candidate must be available to work every weekend and all long weekends, including statutory holidays, and must be available for the full Thursday–Monday schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and dispatch drivers for intermodal transportation requirements.
- Monitor driver schedules, routes, and shipment status.
- Track container and equipment movements.
- Monitor CN and CP rail shipments and provide timely updates.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and terminals.
- Respond promptly to delays, schedule changes, and operational issues.
- Provide drivers with clear and timely instructions.
- Maintain accurate dispatch and transportation records.




- Proactively identify and address operational issues.
- Escalate significant service or operational issues when required.
- Provide professional and responsive customer service.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience dispatching container trucks is required.
- CN and CP tracking experience is required.
- Solid communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Strong computer skills and experience using dispatch or transportation software.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be available to work every weekend and long weekend, including statutory holidays.
