The ideal candidate can be based in either Edmonton, Vancouver or Calgary.This role is a key member of the national H&S team and will provide bothtechnical safety leadershipandcorporate-level H&S support. The position requires a professional who can balance field engagement with structured safety systems, documentation, and senior-level influence. This will depend on specific projects and seasonality.Technical & Skilled H&S LeadershipProvide senior-level H&S advisory support to engineering and construction oversight teams across Western CanadaConduct and leadcomplex incident investigations, including root cause analysis and systemic corrective actionsAdvise leaders and project teams on hazard identification, risk assessment, and control strategies for engineering projects (large and small) across a variety of industries.Support regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions and disciplines.Lead and/or participate in audits, inspections, and assurance activities with a focus on sustainability and defensible outcomesProvide expert input into H&S planning for new projects, emerging risks, and operational changesCorporate, Administrative & Strategic SupportLead and complete client and contractor H&S prequalification submissions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistencySupport organizational change through:Gap assessmentsIntegration of systems, processes, and expectationsMaintain safety records,
dashboards, compliance trackers, and audit evidenceContribute to development and continuous improvement of H&S programs, policies, and proceduresPrepare clear, professional written communications for leaders, clients, and regulatorsLeadership, Influence & CommunicationInfluence and coach senior leaders, project managers, and technical professionals to achieve safety outcomesBuild credibility with experienced engineering and operations leaders who may be resistant to changeNavigate challenging conversations professionally and constructivelyTranslate technical H&S requirements into practical, business‑aligned solutionsExperience & Professional Profile10+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience, preferably in multi-disciplinary or consulting environmentsProven ability to operate independently and manage competing technical and administrative prioritiesStrong analytical and writing skills; able to produce high-quality documentation suitable for legal, regulatory, and client reviewComfortable working with senior professionals and influencing without direct authorityRequiredDiploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplineStrong working knowledge of Western Canadian OHS legislation and regulatory frameworksDemonstrated experience leadingformal incident investigationsusing recognized methodologies (e.G.,
