Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Okane’s strategic objectives in Canada and the United States
Engage with industry events and associations to anticipate emerging market needs and contribute to regional growth plans
Build and sustain long-term, trust-based relationships with key clients
Understand client business needs, provide ongoing value, and facilitate feedback loops
Act as the voice of the client internally to ensure priorities are reflected in service delivery
Lead responses to Expressions of Interest and develop client-specific Statements of Qualifications
Contribute to proposals and ensure submissions align with client requirements and Okane’s commercial risk tolerance
Lead commercial discussions and collaborate with contract management and operations teams to finalize agreements
Forge relationships with government agencies, industry leaders, consultants, and research and academic institutions
Identify and formalize collaboration agreements
Localize and activate marketing initiatives in Canada and the United States
Coordinate Okane’s presence at conferences and support community engagement efforts
Maintain messaging alignment with the marketing team
Meet or exceed regional revenue targets and maintain a qualified sales pipeline
Represent Okane consistently and credibly at industry events
Integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into all work
Requirements Demonstrated experience in business development or skilled services within the mining, energy, or environmental consulting sectors
A degree or diploma in engineering, geological,
or environmental sciences
Proven track record of leading successful proposals and negotiations that resulted in long-term client partnerships
Active participation in industry events and associations
Comfortable working flexibly across time zones
Willingness to travel up to 30%, including overnight and occasional international travel
Ability to integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into work
Ability to complete hazard assessments and other HSE project requirements, follow internal procedures and policies, participate in safety training, and promote a safety culture
