Reporting to the Director of Development Services, the Manager of Development Planning oversees land use applications, updates bylaws, and prepares essential staff reports. This role involves managing a dedicated team of planning professionals while monitoring budgets and timelines for development approvals. Exceptional analytical, communication, and management skills are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure quality control of land use applications and timelines
• Prepare and monitor staff reports for bylaw amendments




• Manage budgets and lead a team of planning professionals
• Update land use bylaws and conduct planning studies
• Facilitate development variance and development permits

Requirements:
• Degree in Urban Planning or related discipline
• 7-9 years of community planning experience
• Completed Approving Officer Course (MATI)
• Membership eligibility in Canadian Institute of Planners
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
