Make a difference with the YMCA as a Youth Support Worker in Fort McMurray, AB. This hybrid role supports at-risk youth through life skills development and community engagement. As a Youth Support Worker, you will utilize an outreach model to empower vulnerable youth at critical academic transition points.
Your responsibilities will include developing youth-centered plans, facilitating workshops, and providing supportive counseling. This full time position requires flexibility, with occasional evening and weekend work to best serve the youth community. Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and verify participant eligibility information
- Develop Individual Action Plans with youth on caseload
- Facilitate workshops aligned with guidelines and mandates
- Perform case management as required
- Advocate with social workers and community professionals Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree in relevant field
- 2+ years of experience working with diverse youth populations
- Valid First Aid and CPR-C certifications
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
