Water Resources EngineerAs a Water Resources Engineer, you will join our Guelph, London or Oakville, Ontario office as part of our Surface Water Engineering Team.ResponsibilitiesProvide project management and engineering support for surface water projects and designs, for both private and public clients.Design and supervise hydraulic structures, outfalls, stormwater management facilities, weirs, bank protection, low‑impact development (LID), master drainage plans, asset management, and flood assessment and mitigation.Conduct asset management studies and inventories for municipal clients.Inspect construction projects occasionally and provide construction administration services for a variety of infrastructure projects.Manage projects for a diverse group of clients, including budget and cost control, schedule tracking, and client management.Complete materials and quantity calculations and prepare tender documents.Review and authorize design drawings, including Issued for Tender/Construction drawing sets.Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team on river process‑related projects, sub‑watershed studies, and environmental assessments.Direct and support field data collection exercises and synthesize analysis.Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members.Work with regulatory agencies and clients to address project‑specific challenges.Prepare technical reports, specifications, and work plans.Support business development initiatives, including drafting proposals.Build strong client relationships and liaise with stakeholders.Travel occasionally within Ontario and to other Montrose locations as needed.Actively participate in Montrose’s strong Health and Safety culture.Qualifications10+ years of experience in water resource engineering, specifically in design, construction,



and project management of water resources projects.Professional Engineer designation with PEO is required.Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering or related field.Experience with stormwater management, civil engineering and land development design is required.Experience in writing technical reports and proposals, and presenting to multi‑stakeholder groups.Ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity simultaneously.Experience with asset management, climate risk assessments and Environmental Assessments is an asset.Knowledge of current regulations, legislation and permitting.Experience with design and drafting software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD is an asset.Self‑motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Valid Class G driver’s licence with no restrictions and a clean driving record.Benefits and CompensationThis is a permanent position with a salary range of $102,000–$150,000, depending on skills, experience and location.We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including benefits, RRSP matching, vacation days and sick days.Additional benefits include versatile work hours and schedules, team‑based work, and cross‑training opportunities.Equal Employment OpportunityMontrose is committed to providing a secure and productive work environment and to promoting the health, safety and well‑being of our employees.
