Key Responsibilities
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Lead assigned Information Services spend categories and act as the primary procurement expert for those portfolios.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
- Monitor industry developments, supplier markets, licensing models, and technology innovations.
- Identify sourcing opportunities that improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and business value.
- Support sourcing activities for software, hardware, telecommunications, network infrastructure, and professional services.
Demand Planning
- Partner with IS stakeholders and business units to understand current and future technology requirements.
- Develop demand forecasts and procurement plans for software applications, technology services, and related solutions.
- Collaborate across business functions to ensure sourcing plans support organizational priorities and project timelines.
- Maintain visibility into upcoming procurement requirements and renewal activities.
Procurement Project Delivery
- Lead and support RFx processes including RFI, RFQ, and RFP activities.
- Develop solicitation documents, procurement requirements, evaluation criteria, and sourcing strategies.
- Coordinate supplier communications throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Facilitate bid evaluations and ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance requirements.
- Conduct supplier negotiations and recommend contract awards.
Contract Management & Supplier Performance
- Negotiate commercial agreements, service contracts, statements of work, and software licensing agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and service commitments.
- Resolve contract and supplier issues while minimizing business disruption.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through supplier performance reviews and relationship management.
Market Intelligence & Analysis
- Conduct internal and external market research to support sourcing decisions.
- Analyze procurement data, industry benchmarks, supplier performance metrics, and market conditions.
- Gather insights from subject matter experts, suppliers, and industry sources to inform procurement recommendations.
- Provide strategic advice on supplier selection, contracting approaches, and category optimization opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead consultations with IS teams, business units, and key decision-makers.
- Build strong partnerships across the organization to support long-term sourcing objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, working groups, and project teams.
- Influence procurement and sourcing decisions through data-driven recommendations and effective communication.
- Support procurement training and provide guidance on sourcing and category management best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of sourcing,
procurement, contract management, or supply chain management experience.
- Experience supporting technology, software, hardware, telecommunications, or professional services procurement.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
- Combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, SAP Ariba, Power BI, or similar procurement and analytics systems.
- Knowledge of software licensing, technology sourcing, professional services contracting, and IT vendor management.
- Strong negotiation, contract analysis, and supplier management capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership.
- Ability to quickly understand technical products, services, and commercial arrangements.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
