THE ROLE The Accounting Coordinator role will initially focus on data entry and processing transactions for our clients’ businesses, as described below.

- Bookkeeping activities
- Prepare vendor payments
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Payroll-related tasks
- Income tax preparation (personal & corporate)

In this entry level role, you will receive on the job training and support for your day-to-day tasks from experienced coworkers. You can expect to learn about our clients’ businesses, as well as how each of your responsibilities contributes to the success of those businesses. In the process,



you’ll learn about Syncopate’s business and how we serve our clients. Understanding “why” you’re doing something – and questioning whether there is a better way accomplish those goals – is an important part of Syncopate’s organizational culture.

This role falls within Syncopate's Paraprofessional Job Stream and may be classified as Entry (Grade 1/S1) or Developing (Grade 2/S2), depending on the candidate's experience. Progression is based on developing technical skills, increasing independence, accuracy and attention to detail, ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, and contribution to team and client success.

WHAT TO EXPECT In this role you are expected to work full-time, 40 hours per week. During the busier times of the year, longer hours may be required due to the nature of our business and our operational needs.

This role has a hybrid work environment. In this role you will work primarily from home but will be expected to spend time working in the office each week (number of in-office days is negotiable). Due to our firm’s hybrid environment, much of the interaction with coworkers and client staff takes place mainly over phone and video calls, email and online chat. All staff are expected to attend regular, scheduled in-person meetings in Markham from time to time (currently monthly).

You’ll be provided with a laptop and monitor, plus an allowance to purchase a keyboard, mouse, and an office chair. You will provide your own table/desk and a high-speed internet connection (required).

The salary range for this position, dependant on the candidate’s job level (Grade 1-2), is $43,800 to $56,600 per year, considering the candidate’s level of experience, education, and location within the GTA. All employees are entitled to 4 weeks annual vacation time off per our Vacation Policy. After three months of employment you will be entitled to enroll in our benefits plan, which includes a Health Care and Wellness Spending account valued at $2,000 annually (pro-rated in your first year) along with virtual healthcare, an employee assistance plan, a basic insurance package and prescription drug coverage.

Pay: $43,800.00-$56,600.00 per year
