We are currently accepting resumes for an Accounting Manager to join the Finance Team. This is a full-time, temporary 8-month contract position in our Edmonton Member Centre.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager manages the flow of funds through their area, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions across multiple reporting units. This position is responsible for financial analysis and forecasting, providing valuable financial reporting and modelling to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with applicable accounting and industry standards. Provide oversight and support to finance staff, in accordance with and under the direction of senior finance management.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for various duties including, but not limited to:

- Ensure quality and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders (CLAC management, various offices/departments). Provide financial reporting to external stakeholders (employers/authorities) as required.
- Financial oversight of all programs and services, including costing and inventory control for their assigned business units
- Under the direction of finance and operations leadership, manage the financial and business strategies and the execution across their assigned units.
- Direct and manage financial processes according to their assigned business units under the direction of the Controller.
- Ensure documentation of standard operating procedures in their finance team are accurate and up to date.




- Manage the planning and preparation of documents on their assigned units for the annual external audit. Provide support to external auditors.
- Provide direct management training, direction and continuous support to their direct reports regarding financial accounting classifications, allocations, and general coding within the CLAC chart of accounts, in agreement with the whole organization, under the direction of the Controller
- Complete human resource management duties for their finance team including performance evaluations and management in collaboration with the Controller.
- Assist in development and maintenance of financial models for budgeting and forecasting. Preparing/updating budgets in collaboration with the respective management. Present the annual budget as required.
- Monitor business unit budgets and cost control in alignment with annual budgets, analyzing current state and historical spending/remittance data along with current financial information. Provide confirmation there is an allocated budget for spending.
- Prepare cash projections and cash flow requirements. Managing investments as assigned under the guidance of operations and finance leadership.
- Perform data analysis to allocate the electronic payments processed online or through POS terminals
- Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA) or registered for completion within 3 years
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years in the Finance/Accounting field




- Ability to manage, direct and motivate staff.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact with a variety of individuals across the organization at various levels.
- Proven track record of reviewing existing processes and making changes to streamline and create efficiencies. Continuous improvement approach to all tasks.
- Ability to review financial policies and implement them in their assigned units.
- Ability to organize and manage projects that involve other stakeholders.
- Experience and skill in interpreting Financial Reporting rules and guidelines.

Reporting and Accountability: This position reports directly to the Controller.

Compensation:

The annual salary will range from $ 78,105 to $ 111,578.
