We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Technician to join our team in Mississauga. The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, account reconciliations, and tax preparation.

Job Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate financial records using computerized accounting and bookkeeping systems.
- Record and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and maintain trial balances and financial statements.
- Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
- Process and calculate payroll, including preparation of payroll cheques and related records.
- Assist with payroll remittances and other government-related filings.
- Prepare and assist with personal and corporate tax returns.
- Prepare financial, accounting, and statistical reports as required.
- Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with clients to obtain accounting and tax-related information when required.
- Ensure confidentiality of client financial and business information.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or a related field.
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is an asset.




- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Client-focused with a professional and reliable approach.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced accounting environment.

Asset Languages: Sinhala and/or Tamil.

Work Environment

- This is an on-site position at our Mississauga office.
- The position may require flexibility to work during day, evening, and occasional weekend hours, depending on business requirements.
- The successful candidate must be comfortable working with confidential financial and client information.
