The Role In this role, you will coordinate a variety of essential functions, including supervision, office administration, financial and human resources tasks, training, records management, and facilities. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring of Legal Assistants and/or Senior Legal Analysts and providing key legal support to Crown Counsel, such as managing redaction services for disclosure to Defence Counsel.
Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements - Secondary school graduation or equivalent; - Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 5 years)
experience working as a Legal Assistant (or equivalent); - Experience leading teams or supervising staff, which may include allocation of work, performance appraisals, peer-to-peer training, etc. Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Successful completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate or equivalent.
- More than 1 year of recent (within the last 5 years) experience working as a Legal Assistant (or equivalent).
- Recent experience (within the last 3 years) working for the BC Prosecution Service.
- At least 1 year of experience leading teams or supervising staff, which may include allocation of work, performance appraisals, peer-to-peer training, etc.
- Experience leading teams or supervising staff within the BC Prosecution Service, About this Position: Amendment (September 8): Posting closing date extended to September 16, 2026. This position is based in Terrace. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies. A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
