Endurance Taekwondo is looking for a reliable, patient After School Academy Assistant to run our upstairs after school space in Port Moody. Kids will finish class and head to the After-School area around 4:30 PM and are picked up between then and 5:45 PM at the latest, with your shift starting at 4:00 PM to get everything ready. This is not a daycare program, meaning simple supervision is not the goal of this role, but instead to actively aid an enrichment program.
What you'll do:
- Set up the upstairs space before kids arrive: booklets, chairs etc.
- Welcome kids around 4:30 PM and get them settled in
- Keep noise levels down as to not disturb running classes that are happening downstairs
- Keep the group secure and on task
- Help kids work through their activity packets
- Answer phone calls from parents confirming pickup, and get the right child ready to head downstairs
What we're looking for:
- Experience with children (childcare, camp counselor, tutoring, coaching, or similar)
- A clean criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
- First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain one
- Patient, calm, and dependable, someone kids and parents can trust
