Abbotsford, BC | Fraser Valley Territory
Commission-Focused B2B Sales | Agriculture & Heavy Equipment
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, relationship-driven Agricultural Fuel Sales Representative to grow our commercial fuel business throughout Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and the surrounding Fraser Valley farming communities.
This is a direct sales and business development position focused heavily on the agriculture, farming, and heavy equipment sectors.
We are looking for someone who understands the Fraser Valley agricultural community and, ideally, already has relationships with farm owners, agricultural operators, equipment owners, contractors, and other businesses supporting the farming industry.
You do not need previous fuel sales experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have spent their careers selling products or services into the agricultural sector and have developed a strong network of relationships that could naturally transfer into commercial fuel sales.
If you already know the farmers, owners, operators, and decision-makers throughout Abbotsford and Chilliwack, we want to talk to you.
The Opportunity
Fuel is one of the largest recurring operating expenses for farms and heavy equipment operators.
Our job is to help customers improve how they purchase, store, manage, and receive that fuel.
You will be selling solutions that can include:
- Bulk clear and dyed diesel delivery
- On-site fuel tanks and storage solutions
- Cardlock fuel programs
- On-site and mobile equipment refuelling
- Gasoline and other commercial fuel products
- Customized fuel programs for farms and agricultural operations
The objective is simple: get in front of agricultural businesses, understand how they currently purchase fuel, identify an opportunity, and win the account. This is not a desk-based account management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being out in the community, visiting farms and businesses, opening doors, building relationships, and asking for the business.
Who We Want to Meet
We place significant value on candidates coming from industries that already sell directly into the Fraser Valley agricultural community.
Your background could include
- Agricultural equipment sales
- Tractor and heavy equipment sales
- Farm equipment, parts, or service
- Agricultural supplies
- Feed, seed, fertilizer, or crop inputs
- Dairy or poultry industry sales
- Irrigation or agricultural infrastructure
- Heavy equipment leasing or financing
- Farm and commercial insurance
- Agricultural lending or finance
- Commercial vehicle or machinery sales
- Other B2B roles serving farms and agricultural businesses
An existing network or transferable book of relationships in the Abbotsford/Chilliwack agricultural community would be considered a major advantage.
What You'll Do
You will identify and develop new commercial fuel customers throughout the Fraser Valley, with an initial focus on Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
Your responsibilities will include prospecting farms and agricultural businesses, visiting prospective customers in person, cold calling and generating your own opportunities, and building relationships directly with owners and decision-makers.
You'll learn how each operation currently purchases and consumes fuel and identify opportunities around bulk delivery, dyed diesel, tanks, cardlock access, and equipment refuelling.
You'll prepare and present competitive fuel programs, negotiate and close new accounts, and continue developing those relationships as their fuel requirements grow.
Most importantly, you'll be expected to build your own portfolio of recurring commercial fuel customers.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a salesperson first.
You should be comfortable driving onto a farm or into an equipment yard, introducing yourself to an owner, starting a conversation,
and creating an opportunity where one didn't previously exist.
Strong candidates will have
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience
- Experience working with the agricultural or heavy equipment community
- Strong existing relationships within the Fraser Valley considered a major asset
- Confidence prospecting and generating their own opportunities
- Experience selling directly to business owners and operators
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
- A practical understanding of farming, equipment, or agricultural operations
- A self-motivated and entrepreneurial approach to sales
- A desire to build a long-term recurring portfolio of customers
Compensation This is a commission-focused sales position with significant performance-based earning potential.
Commercial fuel is a high-volume, recurring business. A customer won today can continue purchasing fuel every week or month for years.
The compensation structure is designed around that recurring prospect and rewards salespeople who consistently bring new customers and fuel volume into the business.
For the right salesperson with an established agricultural network, this provides an opportunity to turn years of existing industry relationships into a substantial recurring book of business and long-term income stream.
Why This Role Is Different
We aren't looking for someone to sit behind a computer and wait for leads.
We're looking for someone who knows the Fraser Valley, understands the agricultural community, enjoys meeting business owners face-to-face, and wants to build something.
If you've spent years selling tractors, heavy equipment, farm supplies, agricultural services, financing, insurance, or other products to Fraser Valley farmers, your relationships and industry knowledge could translate extremely well into fuel sales.
We'll teach you the fuel business.
You bring the relationships, sales ability, and willingness to open doors.
If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: $65,000.00-$270,336.88 per year
