Animal Care Attendant (ACA)

Are you passionate about animals, enjoy working with people, and looking to be part of a supportive veterinary team?

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Animal Care Attendant (ACA) to join our team at Orillia and District Veterinary Services.

This is a hands-on position that plays an important role in keeping our patients comfortable, our clinic running smoothly, and our clients feeling welcomed and cared for. Previous experience working with animals is an asset, but not required — we are happy to train the right person with a great attitude and willingness to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include

- Assisting Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians with medical and surgical patients
- Handling and caring for animals in the clinic
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and other areas of the hospital
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinic
- Assisting our reception team with answering phones, scheduling appointments, client communication, and customer service
- Supporting the veterinary team wherever an extra set of hands is needed

An Important Part of Animal Care Veterinary medicine can be incredibly rewarding,



but it isn't always glamorous! You must be comfortable dealing with the messier side of animal care, including urine, feces, vomit, blood, and cleaning up the occasional unexpected accident.

Reliable, compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a busy setting. You should be a team player who communicates well, enjoys helping both animals and people, and isn't afraid to jump in and help when things get busy.

Because this position includes shifts with our reception team, strong communication and customer-service skills are important.
