Before You Apply
This role is for a registered 309A Construction & Maintenance apprentice with a minimum of 4,000 logged hours and strong residential service experience.
We get a high volume of applications from apprentices who are just starting out. To be clear: this posting is not for green apprentices. If you don't yet have at least 4,000 hours logged toward your 309A, please don't apply for this one — we'll have other openings down the road.
You should already be comfortable being on a residential job site, troubleshooting alongside a journeyperson, and explaining what you're doing to a homeowner. If that's where you're at, keep reading.
A few things are non-negotiable for this role:
- Registered 309A apprentice with a minimum of 4,000 logged hours and strong residential experience
- You live within a 30–40 minute drive of Guelph
- A cover letter telling us about you and your experience is required — applications without one will not be considered
What You'll Be Doing
- Residential service calls
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- EV charger installations
- Panel upgrades
- Residential repairs
- Helping homeowners understand their options
- A rotation between working directly alongside a journeyperson and taking the lead on your own calls as your experience and training progress
This is for primarily residential service work. We are seeking someone with enough residential experience to be trusted with making some calls on their own, with training and support built in as you grow into it.
Who You Are
- You're a skilled apprentice who takes pride in doing things right.
- You're also good with people.
- You're warm, approachable, and professional. You know how to put homeowners at ease, explain things clearly, and build trust quickly.
- You can have a laugh with a customer while still staying focused on the job.
- People often describe you as dependable, easy to talk to, and someone they'd happily invite back into their home.
Why People Like Working Here Most apprentices don't leave a company because of the electrical work. They leave because of the chaos around it.
We've worked hard to build something different.
- Consistent weekday work
- Organized, paperless systems
- Company tablet and modern software
- Materials staged ahead of time
- Almost no layoffs/off-season slowdown
- Supportive, low-drama, toxic-free culture
- Consistent work in your local area — no long drives!
- Real, ongoing training — you're paired with a journeyperson regularly, not just at the start
- 3 weeks paid vacation plus 7 paid personal days
- Health and dental benefits
- Phone stipend
- $27–$31/hour, based on hours logged and experience plus a bonus program where you can expect between 5- 20% additional compensaion lift.
Most importantly, we care deeply about building a workplace where people are respected, supported,
and able to have a life outside of work.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Ontario 309A Construction & Maintenance apprentice with a minimum of 4,000 hours logged
- Strong residential service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic instincts
- Clean G-Class Driver's License
- Ready to be trained further and ready to take on more of a job yourself as that training progresses
- Pride in clean, organized workmanship
Apply Send us your resume, your logged hours, and tell us a little about yourself in a cover letter.
We're hiring for skill, but we're also hiring for attitude. If you're a strong apprentice, great with people, and take pride in your work, we'd love to hear from you.
