Be Part of the Action at Chances Grill PR Chances Grill PR is hiring 1 Full-Time Bartender and 1 Part-Time Bartender to join our team in Prince Rupert, BC.

And then there is the view. Chances Grill offers one of the best views in Prince Rupert, with beautiful sunsets that can be enjoyed from inside the restaurant or out on our deck. It's a pretty great backdrop to a busy shift.

We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, takes pride in creating great drinks, and can stay focused when things get busy. Our busiest shifts, particularly weekends, are often when our bartenders have the opportunity to earn the most in tips.

The Part-Time Bartender position offers approximately 20–30 hours per week, while the Full-Time Bartender position offers approximately 40 hours per week. Both positions involve working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexible scheduling to help you balance work with other commitments.

Duties

- Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and other drinks.
- Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages, including craft mocktails.
- Provide friendly, attentive service and engage with guests throughout their visit.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Use the POS system to enter orders and process transactions.




- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and with integrity.
- Follow all food safety and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible serving procedures.
- Manage multiple orders and priorities during busy periods.
- Communicate and work effectively with other team members.
- Complete assigned side duties, including basic cleaning and maintaining an organized bar area.
- Ensure the bar is properly stocked and ready for service.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Valid Serving It Right certification.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal record and credit check through the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO).
- Previous food service or hospitality experience is preferred, with at least 1 year of experience being an asset.
- Previous bartending experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage guests professionally.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
- Understanding of food safety protocols and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ability to serve alcohol responsibly while adhering to legal requirements.
- Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and a genuine hospitality mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, loud, guest-facing environment.
- Ability to work in dim lighting and around bright or flashing lights.
- Availability to work, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.




- Ability to successfully complete the physical requirements listed below.
- Ability to lift and carry trays and plates containing food and dishes.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items as required.

Education
