Building Technician What this job involves: As a Building Technician with JLL, you will be the cornerstone of our service delivery for a key industrial client in Fort McMurray.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of the building’s operational health, blending hands-on technical expertise with critical coordination duties. This role is vital for ensuring a safe, efficient, and world-class environment that allows our client's business to thrive. What your day-to-day will look like:

- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and execute the site's Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all critical equipment and assets.
- Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming service requests via the CMMS ticketing system within defined service levels.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of third-party vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and project work.




- Conduct regular site inspections and champion health & safety protocols, ensuring a secure and compliant environment.
- Manage inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and supplies, and raise purchase orders as needed.
- Assist with small-scale site projects, office moves, and facility improvements from planning to completion.

Required Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of direct experience in building maintenance, with solid skills in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- A technical diploma or degree in a related discipline (e.g., Building Systems, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology).
- Demonstrated proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Physical capacity to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working within a high-profile corporate or client-facing facility.
- Previous experience directly overseeing the work of third-party vendors.
- Experience with budget tracking and the procurement process, including raising purchase orders.
- Proven ability to assist in the coordination of small projects or office reconfigurations.
- Specific trade certifications (e.g., Journeyman, Systems Maintenance Technician/Administrator).
- Experience deputizing or providing cover for a facility manager or team lead.
