Duties
- Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, piping, fondant, and other decorative techniques to meet customer specifications and seasonal themes
- Prepare cake bases, fillings, icings, and toppings with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every creation
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Package finished products carefully for delivery or customer pickup, ensuring presentation remains impeccable
- Assist in baking and food preparation tasks as needed to support the bakery operations
- Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and ingredients, notifying management when stock needs replenishing
Experience
- Proven experience in cake decorating or bakery arts within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong skills in food handling, baking, and food safety practices to ensure hygienic operations
- Knowledge of various decorating techniques such as piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and understand customer preferences
- Prior kitchen experience demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or special events is a plus
