About the Role
We're looking for a compassionate and dependable Caregiver to provide personalized care and daily living support to clients in their homes and community settings. Working closely with nurses, care coordinators, clients, and family members, you'll help promote independence, dignity, safety, and overall wellbeing while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation.
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a safe living environment.
Remind clients to take medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
Monitor changes in clients' physical or emotional condition and report concerns promptly.
Accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and errands when required.
Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
Follow individualized care plans and infection prevention procedures.
Promote client independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, nurses,
and the broader care team.
What You'll Bring
High school diploma or equivalent.
Caregiver, Personal Support Worker (PSW), Continuing Care Assistant (CCA), or equivalent healthcare training is preferred.
Experience in home care, community care, or long-term care is an asset.
Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to client care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a care team.
Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation may be required for community-based positions.
Dementia care, palliative care, safe patient handling, or medication assistance training is considered an asset.
