CF Markville, also known as Markville Shopping Centre in the Cadillac Fairview chain of malls, is a shopping mall of over 140 stores in Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the intersection of Highway 7 East and McCowan Road
To deliver a consistent and outstanding level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. Working on assigned shifts, to act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly protected and welcoming property environment. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Dispatch and coordinate security personnel
- Liaise with management, emergency services, and staff
- Enforce property rules, access control, and safety procedures
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations
- Conduct patrols and monitor CCTV systems
- Investigate incidents and complete reports
- Manage trespassing and unauthorized access
- Support fire, life safety, and law enforcement activities
- De-escalate conflicts and provide customer service
- Assist with daily operations and other assigned duties
Qualifications:
- Must be willing and able to stand, walk, patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours)
- Must demonstrated a high degree of professionalism
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment both indoors and outdoors as required.
- Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duress
- Must be conformable working in a busy highly populated area
- Must have a clean driver abstract
- Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team
Prerequisites:
- Legally Authorized to work Full-Time in Canada
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Must possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (WSIB-approved). Please note, this is different from Level C or Emergency First Aid certification.
- Must have a G/G2 class drivers license with a clear drivers abstract.
