Become a vital part of the WOCRC team as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner, supporting youth ages 12-26 in Kanata, Goulburn, and West Carleton. This casual, adaptable role involves outreach, community engagement, and program facilitation. This position focuses on empowering at-risk youth through community-based initiatives and mentorship programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience in youth support and will develop workshops that enhance life skills, self-confidence, and social skills. Availability for evening and weekend shifts is essential, as well as an understanding of community dynamics and advocacy for youth issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to identify youth and family needs
- Develop leadership and mentoring workshops for participants
- Facilitate project activities and community forums
- Promote and supervise community volunteerism
- Liaise with program staff to ensure needs are met Requirements:
- Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
- Minimum 1 year experience in youth support
- Experience with group facilitation and leadership
- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ youth support strategies
