Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ foot health, including medical history review and physical examinations
- Develop personalized treatment plans focusing on pain management, injury recovery, and preventive care
- Perform procedures such as callus removal, nail trimming, wound care, and orthotic fitting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care in hospital and outpatient settings
- Collect data on patient progress and document treatments accurately using electronic health records systems
- Administer medications related to foot care when necessary and in accordance with medical protocols
- Provide education to patients and caregivers on foot health maintenance, injury prevention, and post-treatment care
Skills
- Proven experience working in hospital environments with exposure to acute care settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to podiatric assessments and treatments
- Experience with research initiatives or clinical studies related to podiatry or foot health is advantageous
- Skilled in managing pain effectively through various interventions and therapies
- Ability to deliver compassionate patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics and home care clients
- Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans clearly to patients and team members
