Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff,
and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a Class 1 license or equivalent
- Skilled in forklift operation and freight handling techniques
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair procedures
- Solid understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
