Position Summary:

Family Service Saskatoon (FSS) is seeking a passionate and community-minded Community Connector to strengthen Family Service Saskatoon’s presence and visibility throughout the community. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and networks to increase awareness of Family Service Saskatoon programs and services, foster collaboration, and identify opportunities to respond to emerging community needs.

The Community

Connector serves as an ambassador for Family Service Saskatoon, representing the organization at community events, meetings, and initiatives. Through engagement, partnership development, and promotion, the Connector helps ensure individuals, families, and community partners are aware of the supports and services available through Family Service Saskatoon. Duties shall be performed in a manner consistent with the overall mission, vision, and values of Family Service Saskatoon. The position reports to the Director of Programs.

Duties include:

1. Community Engagement & Outreach

· Represent Family Service Saskatoon at community events, forums, meetings, and networking opportunities.

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and community leaders.

· Identify opportunities to increase the visibility of FSS programs and services throughout Saskatoon.

· Gather information regarding emerging community needs, trends, and service gaps and share findings internally.

· Participate in community initiatives that align with the mission and strategic priorities of FSS.

2. Community Awareness

· Promote awareness and understanding of Family Service Saskatoon programs and services within the community.

· Deliver presentations and information sessions to community organizations, businesses, schools, and stakeholder groups.

· Develop strategies to increase community engagement with FSS programs and initiatives.

· Ensure community members and partner organizations have access to accurate and current information about services available through FSS.

3. Partnership Engagement

· Develop, strengthen, and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, health providers, Indigenous organizations, and other stakeholders.





· Identify opportunities for collaborative initiatives that advance organizational goals and enhance community impact.

· Participate in partnership and stakeholder meetings on behalf of FSS.

· Support the development and sustainability of strategic community partnerships.

4. Collaboration

· Work closely with internal teams and external partners including schools, health services, Indigenous organizations, newcomer agencies, and other community-based organizations.

· Support collaborative projects that promote inclusion, equity, and community wellness.

· Work collaboratively with program teams to understand services, priorities, and emerging needs.

· Facilitate communication between community partners and FSS to support organizational objectives.

· Support cross-sector initiatives that promote community well-being, inclusion, and accessibility.

· Contribute to organizational planning and community engagement strategies.

5. Marketing & Communications Support

· Support the promotion of FSS programs and initiatives through outreach activities, community networks, social media, and other communication channels.

· Assist in the development and distribution of promotional and educational materials.

· Identify opportunities to highlight organizational successes, events, and community impact.

· Support community engagement campaigns and public awareness initiatives.

6. Data & Reporting

· Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partnership meetings, presentations, and community engagement efforts.

· Collect and report on community feedback, trends, and engagement outcomes.

· Contribute to organizational reporting and evaluation related to community engagement activities.

· Assist in measuring the effectiveness of outreach and awareness initiatives.

7. Team Support & Flexibility

· Able to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.

· Perform work outside of regular operating hours,



including evenings and/or weekends.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

· Degree in community development, human services, social work, public relations, education, or a related field.

Areas of Knowledge:

· Experience in community engagement, community development, stakeholder relations, outreach, communications, or related fields.

· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse community partners.

· Strong presentation, facilitation, networking, and public speaking skills.

· Knowledge of Saskatoon's community organizations, social service sector, and community resources.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience developing promotional, engagement, or awareness-building initiatives.

· Cultural humility and demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse communities, including Indigenous Peoples, newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and other equity-deserving populations.

· Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and digital communication tools.

· Valid Saskatchewan driver's licence and reliable access to a personal vehicle.

This position is a temporary, full-time, in-scope term position to March 31, 2027; with the possibility of extension. Final candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search. This position is in-scope, CUPE Local 5316.

Compensation:

Pay range of $4,957.25 to $5,471.88 per month based on a bachelor’s degree and related experience.
