Corporate Development/M&A; Analyst
Our Corporate Development – Mergers and Acquisitions (“M&A;”) team is currently looking for a bright and ambitious Corporate Development /M&A; Analyst to be based in our corporate executive office in Toronto, Canada and help execute our strategic growth plan.
Specific Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform relevant financial analysis, financial modelling and valuation (e.g. comparable trading analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, etc.) to form views on the value of potential M&A; targets and determine the potential impact to ATS of consummating such an acquisition
- Analyzing and assembling information on potential M&A; targets including key capabilities, products and services, operating facilities, management, ownership and financial performance
- Assisting the deal teams tasked with executing an acquisition of potential M&A; targets
- Preparing presentation material that aggregates the research, assessments and conclusions on M&A; opportunities for Executive and Board-level review
- Conducting market research on relevant industry sectors (e.g. Life Sciences, Transportation, Food & Beverage, Energy, Consumer etc.) to evaluate industry trends and opportunities in automation
- Analyzing the competitive landscape in various industry sectors to identify key competitors to ATS in those sectors as well as potential acquisition targets ATS could pursue
- Assist the Executive Management team with special projects as required
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ relevant M&A; advisory experience with a Bank owned or independent M&A; advisor or Private Equity Firm
- Strong analytical skills: ability to conduct in-depth industry and company research (using a variety of sources) and distil information in in a succinct manner; ability to conduct detailed review of company financial information and develop detailed excel based financial models and analyses
- Communication: ability to prepare and clearly present/explain information so it can be understood by others, ability to transfer knowledge clearly and effectively
- Prioritizing: ability to work in a fast paced workplace in an organized and thoughtful manner
Computer skills: MS Office Suite (including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint). Thomson Eikon, experience or knowledge an asset, but not a requirement
