We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Corporate Lawyer / Civil Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to handle complex commercial disputes, provide strategic legal advice, and support corporate governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in civil and commercial litigation, excellent research and writing skills, and proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis.

Responsibilities

- Supporting the work of Senior Lawyers;
- Being well-versed in the styling and format requirements of the applicable court;
- Preparing applicable court documents and forms;
- Fielding phone calls and emails from clients and providing updates about the next steps;
- Incorporate companies and update minute books;
- Prepare share purchase agreements, corporate buyback agreements and other similar documents;
- Making copies, preparing, and sending letters to opposing parties or editing pleadings;
- Communicate to clients and witnesses;
- Preparing / drafting pleadings, disclosure briefs / affidavits of documents, case conference briefs, settlement conference briefs, arbitration briefs, mediation briefs, motion records, confirmations, trial records, trial management conference briefs, discoveries and any and all other documents necessary and ancillary to the court process;
- Scheduling applicable attendances with the court;
- Research records, court files and other legal documents;
- Draft legal correspondence;
- Protect law firm’s reputation by keeping client information confidential;




- Updating job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities;
- Updating job knowledge by keeping up to date of the practice directives of each applicable area of law;
- Reading legal publications;
- Maintaining personal networks;
- Any duties and responsibilities now and later assigned to you by the Company within the practice areas of commercial litigation, corporate law, construction law and civil litigation
- Any other duties and responsibilities customarily performed by one holding such a position in other, same, or similar law firms within the practice areas of commercial litigation, corporate law, construction law and civil litigation

Requirements

- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum two years proven experience in civil commercial litigation or corporate law, with a strong understanding of dispute resolution processes
- Proficiency in legal programs and platforms is highly preferred
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
- Strong research capabilities complemented by exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and opinions
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, courts, and external counsel
- Be comfortable with AI use.
