Job Summary
Z’gamok Aggregates, a subsidiary of Z’gamok Enterprises Inc., an Indigenous business fully owned by Sagamok Anishnawbek, specializes in custom aggregate production and heavy equipment, provides a diverse range of services including haulage, sand and gravel supply, and surface mining services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating and monitoring aggregate crushing and screening equipment at a gravel pit or quarry, ensuring consistent production of quality aggregate materials while maintaining equipment, following safety procedures, and minimizing downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate and monitor crushing, screening, conveying, and material-handling equipment.
· Perform daily equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
· Feed material into the crusher and maintain proper material flow through the crushing circuit.
· Monitor equipment performance, production rates, product specifications, and material quality.
· Adjust crusher settings, screens, conveyors, and other equipment as required to maintain production targets.
· Perform routine lubrication, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
· Assist mechanics and maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
· Operate loaders, excavators, skid steers, or other mobile equipment as required.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area around the crushing plant.
· Follow company health and safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and required PPE.
· Monitor dust, noise, and other environmental controls in accordance with site requirements.
· Complete production, inspection, and maintenance records accurately.
· Communicate equipment issues, production concerns, and material requirements to supervisors and other operators.
· Assist with plant setup, shutdown, seasonal maintenance, and general pit duties.
· Perform other duties as required to support safe and efficient pit operations.
Qualifications
· Valid Class G Driver’s License
· Previous experience operating aggregate crushing and screening equipment.
· Experience operating heavy equipment in a pit, quarry, or construction setting.
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
· Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
· Experience operating 980K-988K loaders and excavators.
· Excellent time management, with the ability to meet key deadlines.
· Relevant heavy-equipment operator training or certification is an asset.
Pay: From $27.44 per hour
