Join Bissell
Centre's Indigenous Engagement team, which is dedicated to reducing poverty through cultural empowerment. As a Cultural Support Worker, you'll provide direct and indirect support to help participants connect with their Indigenous identity.
Your role includes facilitating workshops, sharing circles, and integrating Indigenous protocols into community programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement holistic processes reflecting Indigenous world views
- Facilitate access to traditional resources for participants
- Offer emotional and cultural guidance to support participants
- Help reconnect participants with their home nations
- Coordinate access to traditional ceremonies and teachings Requirements:
- Degree in Native Studies or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- Advanced knowledge of Indigenous cultures and ceremonies
- Familiarity with land-based teachings
- Sound knowledge of TRC’s Calls to Action Contribute to creating a culturally rich environment for participants at Bissell Centre.
