Paris Child Care is excited to be opening our brand-new Cobblestone Child Care Centre, and we are looking for a dependable, hardworking and detail-oriented Custodian/Cleaner to join our team.

The Custodian/Cleaner plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary and welcoming environment for the children, families and educators who use our centre every day. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things and can work independently while maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness.

Position Details

Location: Cobblestone Child Care Centre – Paris, Ontario

Position: Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 25 hours per week (flexible work arrangement)

Wage: $25.00 per hour

Benefits: Eligible for Paris Child Care's group benefits program following successful completion of 3 months of employment

Schedule: Monday–Friday Evenings

Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Completing daily cleaning and sanitizing throughout the childcare centre, including classrooms, washrooms, hallways, offices, staff areas and common spaces.
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors.
- Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces, sinks, toilets, mirrors and fixtures.
- Emptying garbage and recycling and replacing liners.
- Replenishing washroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towel and hand soap.
- Following established cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting procedures and schedules.
- Maintaining required cleaning logs and documentation.
- Safely using, storing and handling cleaning products and chemicals.
- Monitoring inventory and communicating when cleaning supplies need to be reordered.
- Identifying and promptly reporting maintenance concerns, damage or required repairs.
- Using appropriate signage and safety precautions when completing cleaning tasks.
- Completing periodic deep-cleaning and seasonal cleaning duties as required.
- Ensuring the centre is left clean, organized and secure at the end of each shift.
