About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, database technologies, and data integration. This role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that align with business objectives and organizational technology strategies.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Modelers, Database Administrators, Developers, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects to define data architecture standards and translate complex business requirements into effective enterprise data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data structures.
- Develop scalable data architecture solutions that support operational systems, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Translate business and technical requirements into data architecture designs, standards, and implementation strategies.
- Define enterprise data standards, principles, naming conventions, and architecture guidelines.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Modelers, Developers, DBAs, Solution Architects, and other technical teams.
- Design data integration strategies for applications, databases, APIs, data warehouses, and external systems.
- Evaluate existing data platforms and recommend improvements related to scalability, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Provide architectural guidance for database design, data modeling, data migration,



and system integration initiatives.
- Define data flows and mappings across enterprise applications and systems.
- Support the design and implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, reporting platforms, and analytics solutions.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with organizational security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Establish best practices for data quality, metadata management, master data management, and data lifecycle management.
- Evaluate new database, cloud, integration, and data management technologies.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and other architectural documentation.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the solution development lifecycle.
- Work with project teams in an Agile/Scrum environment and participate in planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to understand current challenges, future requirements, and strategic data needs.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Database Architecture, or a similar data-focused role.
- Robust expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.




- Robust understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and enterprise data platforms.
- Experience with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar enterprise database platforms.
- Strong understanding of data integration concepts, including APIs, ETL/ELT processes, batch processing, and system-to-system integration.
- Experience designing scalable enterprise data architectures for complex applications and systems.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, master data management, data quality, security, and privacy principles.
- Experience with data modeling and architecture tools is considered an asset.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams, data models, data flows, and technical documentation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent analytical, architectural, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex data architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
- Experience working with government or public sector organizations is considered an asset.

Job Type: Fixed term contract Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
