The successful candidate will combine strong leadership and organizational skills with a practical understanding of Alberta childcare licensing requirements, parent communication, staff supervision, enrolment, and classroom operations.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct tours and orientations for prospective and newly registered families and support the registration and enrolment process.
- Maintain and follow up with prospective families and waiting lists and support ongoing enrolment efforts.
- Review parent communications and daily reports through the centre's childcare management application and help ensure information is accurate and professional.
- Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, breaks, absences, and unexpected ratio requirements. The Director must be willing to work directly in classrooms when operationally required.
- Support appropriate educational programming that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.
- Assist with incident documentation, parent follow-up, staff meetings, and other operational or licensing-related matters.
- Monitor classroom supplies and furnishings and coordinate supply and grocery requirements with appropriate staff.
- Perform other reasonable childcare-related duties assigned by Management and remain flexible with shifts when required for centre operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification is required.
- Previous leadership, supervisory,
or management experience in a licensed daycare or early learning environment is required.
- Good working knowledge of Alberta childcare licensing requirements and day-to-day compliance expectations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise, guide, support, and hold staff accountable professionally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
