St. Clair O’Connor Community Inc. is a non-profit partnership between the broader community and Danforth Mennonite and Toronto United Mennonite Churches providing a range of accommodation and a continuum of care, a variety of life-affirming activities and programs for seniors in the surrounding neighborhoods. SCOC seeks to be a caring, intergenerational community, which nurtures the health and well-being of its residents.

SCOC is presently accepting applications for a Dietary Aide & Server.

Reporting to the Food Services Manager. Required to perform duties consistent with policies and procedures and appropriate legislation. (No Guarantee of Hours)

Responsibilities

- Food Service Worker Certificate program from a recognized institute
- Spoken and written English communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to caringly interact with residents.
- Clear understanding of Food Services, therapeutic diet.
- Ability to work both at LTC & IDL dining room.
- Ability to perform all other Food Services Duties as assigned in Kitchen & Independent Living, Dishwashing & LTC Dining Room, Tearoom.

Requirements

- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures




- Strong customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents or patients
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a rapid-paced environment
- Kitchen experience including cleaning and sanitation practices is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior experience in serving or meal delivery is a plus
