Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking a Director, Manufacturing Industry Financing to join its Commercial Banking team in Southwestern Ontario.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned commercial banking professional to lead business development efforts within the manufacturing and automotive sector, supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, tooling and fabrication companies, and industrial manufacturers across Ontario.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to business owners and executive teams, providing strategic financing solutions while building and managing a specialized commercial lending portfolio.

- Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial clients within the manufacturing sector.
- Identify, originate, and structure complex financing solutions tailored to client needs.
- Build relationships with business owners, executives, industry associations, and referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
- Analyze financial statements, industry trends, and market conditions to assess risk and identify growth opportunities.
- Structure and negotiate credit facilities including operating lines, revolving credit facilities, term loans, acquisition financing, and equipment financing.
- Provide strategic advice related to capital structure, business expansion, ownership transitions, succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with internal credit, risk, legal, and operations teams to deliver exceptional client service.
- Monitor portfolio performance and ensure adherence to established credit and risk management standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the automotive industry and its evolving economic landscape.

Requirements

- University degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
- Significant experience in Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Equipment Finance, or Commercial Lending in manufacturing and automotive.
- Must have current experience in the Southwestern Ontario.
- Proven success managing and growing complex commercial portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk assessment.
- Experience working with automotive manufacturers, suppliers, industrial companies, or related sectors is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business and cultivate long-term client relationships.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to influence senior decision-makers and act as a trusted business advisor.
- Sound business judgment and a strategic mindset.
