Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistants to join our Before and After Programs in Ajax & Oshawa.

Before & After School Positions are full day shifts; it will be a split shift 35-40 hours per week.

Full Day Positions are 40 hours per week

Benefit Package after 6-month probationary period

Paid Personal Days after 6-month probationary period In this role, you will support lead educators in creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment for young children. Your energy and enthusiasm will help foster early learning experiences that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. Responsibilities

- Assist the Registered Early Childhood Educators s in planning and implementing a program that follows the lead of the children and creates an inclusive and stimulating environment to encourage each child to explore and learn on various topics of interest.
- Maintains open and regular communication with co-workers
- Support children with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices.
- Foster a safe, welcoming setting by supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Help manage classroom organization, including materials setup and cleaning tasks.
- Observe and document children's progress, sharing insights with educators and families as needed.




- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance.
- Documenting observations and preparing reports as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times

Requirements

- Fluency in English
- Attend and participate in all program /centre meetings and events as required
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices an asset
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is preferred.
- Bilingual skills to support diverse student populations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, children, and families.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy classroom setting.
- Demonstrated time management abilities to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Leadership qualities to support classroom activities and guide children positively.
- Documenting observations and preparing reports as needed.

Qualifications

- Valid Certificate for CPR and Standard First Aid
- Up to date immunizations including 2 step TB (Tuberculosis) test
- Criminal background check including vulnerable sector




- Early Childhood Education Assistant diploma or Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years act is considered an asset
