Fall 2026 | Remote | Part-time, two days per week

LIMINUL is an independent digital magazine based between Toronto and Montreal, coalescing the Canadian and global undergrounds. We document the emerging, the unclassifiable, and the culturally urgent across fashion, art, photography, music, design, and contemporary thought.

Our tone is critical. Our aesthetic is post-digital. Our contributors are writers, artists, photographers, stylists, and iconoclasts working at the edges of culture.

We are seeking an Editorial Intern to join our Fall 2026 cohort. This remote, part-time position is suited to an emerging writer or editor with a distinctive perspective, sharp cultural instincts, and an interest in participating in contemporary cultural production.

Throughout the placement, the successful candidate will develop practical experience in research, cultural analysis, digital publishing, editorial production, and social media while building a portfolio of published work.

The Role

- Research and write original features, interviews, essays, reviews, and Q&As; across LIMINUL’s editorial verticals
- Develop timely, original story ideas aligned with our voice and cultural mandate
- Assist with shaping pitches, editing submissions, and preparing stories for publication
- Participate in weekly editorial meetings and contribute to ongoing programming
- Support digital publishing through social copy, captions, newsletters, and content scheduling
- Monitor basic performance metrics to help strengthen the reach and visibility of published work
- Identify emerging artists, designers, scenes, and cultural conversations in Canada and internationally

- What You Bring

- Current enrolment in journalism, communications, art history,



fashion, cultural studies, or a related academic program
- Strong writing and research skills, with a clear editorial voice
- Demonstrated interest in fashion, art, photography, design/architecture, music, visual culture, or contemporary criticism
- Familiarity with underground and independent creative scenes in Canada and internationally
- Solid organizational skills and comfort working independently in a remote environment
- Curiosity, reliability, and openness to editorial feedback
- An interest in independent publishing and cultural perspectives that resist the mainstream
- Photography, design, video, or creative-direction experience is considered an asset

- Academic credit may be available where supported by the applicant’s institution
