- Lay the groundwork for the organization's enterprise architecture function, building out core strategies, principles, standards, and governance practices from the ground up
- Shape and evolve the enterprise architecture vision, ensuring guiding principles and governance stay current and effective over time
- Chart multi-year technology roadmaps that connect directly to business goals and broader corporate direction

- Vet and sign off on proposed solution designs, confirming they hold up against enterprise architecture standards
- Keep a pulse on emerging technologies and industry shifts, flagging opportunities, risks, and areas ripe for innovation
- Work hand-in-hand with business leaders to turn strategic goals into concrete technology capabilities and roadmaps
- Safeguard compliance across security, privacy, data governance, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Champion architecture best practices while coaching and developing permanent staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of progressive experience delivering IT solutions
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks with the ability to adapt frameworks pragmatically to organizational maturity rather than applying them rigidly
- Experience with cloud platforms
- Knowledge of data, analytics, and integration architectures
- Understanding of security and risk management principles
- Experience with API and event-driven architectures
- Experience with enterprise applications
- Familiarity with up-to-date application platforms and DevOps practices
- Experience with technology portfolio and lifecycle management
- Demonstrated experience building or maturing an enterprise architecture practice from an early or informal stage
- Strong coaching/mentoring track record, with experience developing internal (permanent) staff into architecture-capable practitioners
Desired Skills and Experience
- TOGAF certification is an asset
