Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Equipment Operator.

The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment in an active, fast-paced aggregate pit or quarry. Primary equipment includes excavators and 988K loaders, with the ability to operate a variety of other equipment such as rock trucks, graders, bulldozers, compactors, and rollers.

Responsibilities include excavation, loading, stockpiling, material handling, crusher feeding, pit development, and general site duties while meeting production targets and maintaining all safety and environmental requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment.
- Load aggregate, sand, gravel, overburden, and other materials into haul trucks, crushers, hoppers, and screening plants.
- Feed crusher, build and maintain stockpiles, and effectively handle and move various aggregate products.
- Excavate, dig, strip, load, and move material using excavators.
- Maintain proper pit faces, benches, slopes, working areas, stockpiles, and access roads.
- Perform pit development, stripping, overburden removal, road construction, drainage, and site preparation.
- Maintain consistent and efficient crusher feed while monitoring material size and quality.
- Sort, blend, and stockpile aggregate products according to specifications.
- Safely work around haul trucks, crushing and screening equipment, conveyors, blasting areas, and other mobile equipment.
- Operate excavator attachments such as buckets,



hydraulic hammers, thumbs, rippers, and other approved attachments when required.
- Perform thorough pre-shift inspections of excavators, loaders, and other equipment.
- Complete routine maintenance including greasing, cleaning, fluid checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Identify mechanical problems, abnormal equipment operation, and safety hazards and report them promptly.
- Maintain safe working distances and communicate effectively with truck drivers, ground personnel, supervisors, and other equipment operators.
- Monitor production rates and equipment performance and adjust operating practices to maintain efficient production.
- Assist with crusher and screening plant operations as required.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, traffic plans, PPE requirements, lockout procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Complete daily inspection, production, and equipment records.
- Perform other pit, quarry, and aggregate-production duties as required.

Qualifications

- Valid Class G Driver’s License.
- Previous experience operating excavators, 988K loaders, and other heavy equipment in a fast-paced active pit or quarry environment.
- Experience feeding and working around crushing and screening plants.
- Robust understanding of safe heavy-equipment operation in an active pit environment.
- Ability to operate equipment precisely around stockpiles, crusher feed hoppers, trucks, and other machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues.
- Strong communication, situational awareness, and safety mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management, with the ability to meet key deadlines.
- Relevant heavy-equipment operator training or certification is an asset.

Pay: $26.44-$32.37 per hour
