FOCUS Society for Support Services is an innovative non-profit community organization providing individualized support to adults and families in Lloydminster and surrounding communities. Our goal is to help the people we support build on their strengths, develop practical skills, increase independence, and create meaningful connections within their community.

We are currently looking for a compassionate, dependable, and flexible Support Worker to join our Lloydminster FCSS team.

Position Overview

As a Family & Community Support Worker, you will provide individualized, community-based support to adults and families based on their unique needs and goals.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. You may be helping an adult build independent living skills, supporting a parent with routines and parenting strategies, helping someone access community resources, attending appointments, working through family challenges, or supporting an individual as they work toward personal goals.

Our support is person-centred and strengths-based. We are looking for someone who can meet people where they are, build positive professional relationships, and provide practical support that encourages growth and independence.

Hours are flexible and scheduled around the needs of the adults and families receiving services. This position is ideal for someone looking for meaningful part-time work with flexibility in their schedule.

What You May Be Doing

- Providing one-on-one support to adults and families in their homes and within the community
- Supporting adults with independent living and daily life skills
- Helping individuals and families identify and work toward personal goals




- Supporting parents in developing parenting skills, routines, and strategies
- Helping strengthen communication and relationships within families
- Connecting individuals and families with community programs, services, and resources
- Supporting individuals with appointments and community activities
- Encouraging healthy routines, positive decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Providing practical support during challenging situations
- Completing required documentation and reports
- Communicating professionally with individuals, families, FOCUS staff, and other service providers

What We Are Looking For The right person for this position is compassionate, patient, dependable, and non-judgmental. You should be comfortable working independently in the community while also being part of a supportive team. We are looking for someone who has:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with adults and families
- Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- The ability to maintain professional boundaries
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to work around the needs of the people receiving support
- A willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training
- A reliable vehicle and willingness to travel within the community for work





Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma required
- Education in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, Disability Support, Addictions and Community Support, or a related field is considered an asset
- Previous experience working with adults, families, mental health, addictions, disability services, community support, or social services is considered an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Intervention Record Checks for Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- First Aid certification is preferred

Schedule This is a flexible, part-time position. Hours are based on the needs of the adults and families receiving support and may include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours.
