Duties

- Advise clients on family law issues such as divorce, child custody, visitation rights, spousal support, and property division.
- Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, settlement agreements, and court submissions with precision and clarity.
- Conduct thorough research using tools like Canlii to stay updated on relevant laws, precedents, and legal developments.
- Negotiate settlements between parties to achieve fair and amicable resolutions while protecting clients’ interests.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations with professionalism and confidence.
- Maintain detailed case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court procedures at all times.




- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services that meet client needs efficiently.

Experience

- Proven 1-3 years experience practicing family law with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and court procedures.
- Must be licensed with the Law Society of Ontario Bar in good standing.
- Must have valid LawPro Insurance.
- Skilled in legal research using platforms such as Canlii to gather pertinent case law and statutory information.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Prior experience representing clients in court or alternative dispute resolution settings is highly desirable.
