Field Service Electrician Apprentice is an electrical trades position that helps out with maintenance and servicing for Tesla’s commercial solar, energy storage and charging infrastructure. It’s based in Vancouver and this role gives you the option to work side by side with licensed electricians on a mix of commercial energy systems. Day to day, you will be troubleshooting electrical equipment, looking over technical drawings and supporting service work across multiple sites.

- Field Service Electrician Apprentice, Commercial Energy Service is an electrical apprenticeship role within Tesla’s Energy Commercial Operations team.

- This is a full time position located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- The role is focused on doing servicing and ongoing maintenance for commercial power systems.
- The work setting is mostly field service related, covering several customer sites across different locations and days.





Responsibilities - Maintain electrical components and equipment.

- Use electrical schematics, blueprints and technical diagrams during service activities.
- Review manuals and technical documentation.
- Service electric vehicle charging stations.
- Support maintenance activities on battery energy storage systems.
- Complete assigned electrical service tasks at customer sites.
- Demonstrate positive work habits that reflect company values.
- Complete assigned work within required timelines.
- Provide feedback regarding completed work and service activities.

Requirements - Must be a registered 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Apprentice through Skilled Trades Ontario for Ontario openings or Industry Training Authority for Vancouver openings.

- Solid knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohm’s Law is required.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of electrical work background is required, including installation of electrical equipment.
- Can use power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment.
- Work background with low voltage control circuits and AC power circuits is required.
- Can read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.
- Can travel to multiple sites on a daily basis.
- Can travel for up to two weeks at a time with short notice.
- Can work weekends, overtime and overnight travel assignments when required.
- Can work at heights and in demanding environmental conditions.
- Can perform repetitive physical duties for extended periods.
- Can frequently lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must possess government issued identification suitable for domestic air travel and access to applicable facilities.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
